Bye Bye

Who is this little boy and what happened to my baby??? In the matter of 2.5 weeks we now have 4 teeth (2 top & 2 bottom) so no more Jack-O-lantern, hehe, and he now waves bye bye and is starting clap hands. It's so fun to see him learn new things and it's so rewarding to know that we 'taught' him these things. He loves to make us laugh and really will actually try to do so, even if it's him just laughing at nothing. He sometimes wakes from his naps and you don't realize he is awake until you hear laughter coming from the monitor. It's so great that he wake up like that and that's usually the way he wake up, it's either that or him saying 'dada dada ooooo' in the crib.

I also can not eat anything these days in front of him without him saying 'mmmmmmm' because he wants to eat or at least try whatever it is that momma & daddy are eating. Every morning before his yogurt he has Cheerios now and he loves them! I go to get the box out of the pantry and when he sees that yellow box he squeals he gets so excited! He also loves watermelon, which isn't a huge surprise to me since I wanted to so much while I was pregnant. He now also loves fresh mozzarella, my little Italian boy! We usually cut it in chunks and put it in the salad at dinner and when he sees that salad bowl he starts getting antsy and just wants that cheese. Oh, and god help you if you start to eat it and not offer him any. I think if he could jump out of his highchair and take it from you he would!

So there it is, a summary of what our little boy is up to these days. It really is amazing how fast they grow. People told me, even when I was pregnant, how fast time flies by and to not blink because you'll miss something. Boy were they right! I feel like I blinked and the past (almost) 10 months have just zoomed past me! My little baby is looking less and less like a baby these days and more & more like a little boy. Before I know it his 1st birthday will be here ::tear:: and I will officially have a toddler! Oh no, I can't even think about that right now, I will continue to be in denial that my boy is growing up so fast!

9 months

So I realized now that I never posted about Jack's 9 month Dr.'s appointment. I mean you all know he's a big boy but I bet you didn't know he's this big:

23lbs 4oz
about 29.5" tall (the dr. measures funny...I swear he's even taller than that!)

The above brings him in to the 90th percentile for height & weight! What happened to my itty bitty baby? He was so tiny when he was born and now when I hold him he looks like he's 1/2 my size...but then again he almost is!

But it's not Halloween yet...

and yet I have my very own Jack-O-Lantern!

During bath time last night with Jack I decided to try and do a tooth inspection and much to my surprise I felt that another tooth had decided to start breaking through. BUT...it wasn't the second top one (remember he got the first top one (middle left) early last week)...it was the bottom right middle! So now all I can think of is that when these two finish coming all the way through he is going to smile & look like a Jack-O Lantern, haha. At least he has teeth these days though right? For a while there I thought I was going to have a toothless baby forever!

St. Patty's Day '09

I may not be Irish but my two guys are and I thought seeing that Tuesday is St. Patty's Day I would take advantage and take some pictures. Of course these days it's a little harder because Jack would much rather be looking off or doing something else than smiling for the camera for momma but I think we got some good ones :o) Here are a few for your viewing pleasure!

3/4 of a YEAR old...and a TOOTH!!!

Yep, you read it right...Jack FINALLY has a tooth. Of course my child wouldn't be like everyone else's and have a bottom tooth first though..noooooo...he had to get a top tooth first. He will hardly let anyone in his mouth to check it out though so I guess we'll have to wait til it descends all the way. I think he is actually working on the one right next to it already too, hopefully that one won't take as long to break through.

Jack also turned 9 months old yesterday, can you believe it? I thought to myself yesterday morning, as I went to get him out of his crib, that he's starting to loose a little of his baby look already and starting to look like a little boy :o( I can't believe 9 months ago I was holding him in my arms in the hospital and hoping that I was going to be able to take care of him and be the best momma I could be. I think so far I've done a decent job :o)

In honor of his 9 month birthday and the fact that Easter will be here before we know it I decided last minute yesterday to take him for pictures. Kelly has been telling me about a place called Portrait Innovations for the longest time so I decided I would take the 30min drive in to NJ and try them out. WELL....boy was I pleased!!!! They did an awesome job and were just all around great. The girls played with Jack while taking his pictures, took a ton of pictures (really, almost 100 pics of my little man!) and just really had a great time with him. Of course he ate up all the attention (he is momma's boy after all) and just had fun with it. Here are a few of my favorites:

Gymboree and the Park...what a day!!

I signed Jack up for his very first Gymboree class for this morning. My friend Cindy and her little guy Matt (Jack's buddy) were coming too. Since Matt is 10.5 months already and Jack is almost 9months we signed them up for the 10-1month class. I figured this way maybe Jack would pick up on more things from the older kids and would get more out of the class. He has never been around more than 1 or 2 children at a time so I wasn't sure exactly how he would do in a group but he loved it! I am now thinking of signing up for a monthly membership to go once a week, we shall see :o)

Since the weathers was so nice we decided to take the boys to the park. It's been a long time since it's been warm enough to go out without coats on so we took advantage of this opportunity. Jack was able to swing on the swings for the very first time and even though he was exhausted he seemed to really like it.

Jack's New Playroom :o)

Ok, so it's been a month since I finished the room but the curtains and blinds just arrived this week (I ordered them late) and Joe put them up and now it's finally all done! His room is upstairs in Grandma & Grandpa's house and is prefect! He loves playing up there and it's so nice to not have all the big toys down here in our apartment. Here are some pictures of before & after. I must say I'm pretty proud of how it all came out :o)
