Bath Time Fun!

Jack loves the bath so much. Recently he has figured out how to hold on to the sides of his tub and pull himself to the sides. In doing this he has also figured out that if he rubs his hands against the sides that it makes a noise and well...it amuses him. I decided to see what he would do if I did it since my hands are bigger and so it makes a louder noise. Here was the outcome:

What's that I hear?...oooo..silence!

Yep, that's right, silence! It is 10:40pm on Tuesday night and the only sounds I can hear right now are the TV (The Bachelor that I TiVo'd yesterday), the sound of the heartbeat playing in Jack's crib and myself typing. It's been a rough couple of days. Jack has thrown up his lunch on Sunday, his dinner yesterday and then today was just super cranky. I am so ready for teeth it's ridiculous! What baby starts teething at 3 months old and then at 7 months still has no teeth? Is that even humane?

So after taking an hour to get him down for bed tonight with him fighting me as hard as he could, having to put him down so he can relax on his own, him getting progressively louder and louder with his talking/yelling in his crib, me going to pick him up and then having him fall asleep in my arms as if none of the above ever happened. Looking down on that peaceful sleeping face makes you forget all the hair pulling & face grabbing that took place just minutes before.

So although I should be laying down and trying to get some sleep myself, I am sitting here enjoying these moments of silence because hey, with a baby, how often do these moments really come around?!

7 months =)

Well, a little late but better late than never right? Jack turned 7 months this past Monday. He's really showing us so much more of his personality lately. The other day we came back downstairs after dinner and he was in his jumper (his favorite place to be) and all of a sudden he was making this grunting almost monster like noise (if you were pretending to be a monster anyway), well I decided to do it back to him and that's exactly what he wanted because as soon as I did it he did it back to me. Joe came downstairs and I told him to make the noise and sure enough he did and Jack did it right back. He is so playful and just so much fun to be around.

We have begun showing him how to play on his knees and hold on to toys while he is like that. I figure this way maybe he will learn to pull himself up to stand. I know I'm probably going to regret this soon but I think it will be so much fun to see him stand and play or even be able to move around a little and play with the toys around him.

At the end of this month we will be working on Jack's playroom upstairs and I can't wait. I have so many ideas for it and now have to think of a theme for up there. I am thinking it will be sports related of course but we will see. I can't wait to take on this fun 'project' =)

We have a walker...sort of...

After feeding Jack his lunch today I figured I would put him in his walker and let him play in there for a little bit while I started to get dinner ready for later. He loves to stand around in his walker since it's like a little car and the steering wheel make a lot of fun noises for him, a couple of times I have even seen him take a step or two backwards. Well I was on the phone with my mom and had my back turned to Jack while I was doing a few things at the counter and when I turned around he was at least 3 feet from where he started out but it wasn't to the front or to the back of where he was it was to the side! Apparently he is able to 'walk' enough in there now to get himself sideways. I guess from now on I will have to make sure the downstairs door is closed when he is in there!

Our Future Rock Star!

When I was pregnant a few times a week at night Joe would put headphones on my belly for Jack to listen to some music. We didn't do the typical classical music because that just isn't us. Instead we put the headphones in to Joe's ipod and played the music that we like for Jack, songs by Bon Jovi (of course!), Guns N Roses, Aerosmith, The Who, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, etc... When he was in the belly he would move and kick more and more with the music that had the heavier drums, it was so fun!

Lately a few times a week we have been shutting the TV off and Joe will sit on the bed with Jack, plug his ipod in to the laptop and just listen to the music and sing a long. Lately though Jack likes the music more and more and will even 'sing' to some songs. Here is a video of our little future rock star 'singing' along to the Beatles (seems to be his favorite at this moment):

Happy 2009!!

So it's here, the year is over and a new one has begun...where the last 12 months have gone I'm not sure but I guess the saying is true, time flies when you're having fun!

2008 was so great to us, it started in February with finding out our little beanz was a boy and what a great way to start our year! Then came June and Jack's early (16 days) arrival because I guess he just could not wait any longer to come out & play with Daddy! Then he became a 'big' cousin to 2 more boys in September ( Nikole's Ben and Justine's Nickolas) at only 3 months old :-) We've had his first 4th of July, first Christening, first vacation to FL, first Halloween, first Thanksgiving, first Christmas and now his first New Years Eve (which he made it til midnight and even later than that!!). Not to mention his first trip to the zoo, first Yankee game (at the now 'old' stadium) and so many other firsts. 2008 has been quite the year and I know 2009 will only be better!

2009 will bring us Jack's 1st Valentine's day with his 1st Valentine (me of course!), his first Easter, hopefully his first tooth and first steps and of course his first birthday! He will also get to see another cousin be born (Uncle Mike & Aunt Nicole's little baby Ryan), and 2 new little friends for him (thanks to Rosalia & Kelly) :-) It's going to be a great year and we're so excited to see all that our little guy will be up to soon.

Happy New Year to all and a healthy one too!!!

of course there are a couple of pictures from last night to...

Jack's First Christmas!

We made it!! I finally finished shopping the weekend before Christmas but didn't finish wrapping until the night before Christmas Eve. The great thing this year was that since Jack is only 6 months old I was able to not only shop with him right there but also wrap everything right in front of him and yet it was still a big surprise when he opened them =) Next year it's going to be a little harder and there will be a lot of hiding gifts in the attic, haha.

Christmas Eve was a lot of fun. We went out to dinner this year which was so much better because there was no clean up for us. Then we all came back here to the house to exchange gifts, have dessert & play with Jack. Jack did great at dinner, even took a little nap so he could open gifts when we got home. He loves to rip open gifts and pull bows off of the gifts and I guess he liked the gifts themselves too.

Here are a few pictures from the Christmas Eve & Christmas Day:
