Our Weekend

I swear weekends go by faster & faster these days. Saturday we went by my friend Cindy's house so the boys could play together. Her son Matt is about 1.5 months older than Jack and they really get along so well! Jack loves to watch Matt crawl around and is really trying to figure it out himself now. He can go very fast backwards and around in circles but can not get himself forwards yet...I guess he'll get it soon. Then Saturday afternoon/night Mike & Nicole came by to hang out and we got some cute pictures of everyone while there were here. Jack tried to 'play' with his cousin but I think he will have to actually wait til he gets here to have more interaction, haha. Here are a bunch of pictures for our weekend:

yes, apparently I am that short...Jack is looking almost as big as momma these days!

Booked Jack's 1st Birthday...ahhhh

I can't believe it is less than 4 months away! We have decided on where to have it finally (I've been thinking about it since Jack was born I think) and so last weekend I went ahead and booked it. Some may say it's early but I am thinking that June = graduations and so I wanted to make sure we got the place, date & time we wanted and we did :o)

Oh, and guess who will be attending Jack's 1st birthday party as a special guest?!?!...ELMO!!! Jack loves Elmo so much that I looked around and then found someone through a friend that dresses up as the different characters and she has an awesome Elmo costume. The date was available and now Elmo is booked too ! I can't wait to see Jack's face when a big real life Elmo comes walking through the door!

Now I just have to get the little things together and June will be here before we know it! I can't believe it...my boy will be one in just 110 days!! (yes I'm a loser and looked that up!)

A little late but better than never

Last week Jack turned 8 months! My sweet little baby boy is turning in to such a big boy every day. He can 'crawl' backwards and push up to get on his knees, I'm thinking crawling may come soon, we'll see. I was so excited when he started doing all this and now I kind of wish he wasn't. I know that's selfish to say but I feel like I blink lately and he's bigger, time passes and before I know it he will be a toddler...UGH, I'm in denial!

Since he turned 8 months we were told by the doctor that he could start meats. I try everything before I put it in his mouth and let me tell you, I was NOT looking forward to pureed meats at all, lol, but they actually aren't as bad as they smell. Jack loves all the ones he has tried so far (lamb, chicken & turkey...tonight starts beef) and are we surprised? Is there anything Jack doesn't like? haha, he's a good eater and pretty much always has been. He eats those Gerber puffs now but I break them up for him because I am deathly afraid of choking (maybe over protective but I can't help it) and will let you put pieces of food in his mouth to try. It's so great seeing his different faces & reactions to different foods we give him and how he laughs after we laugh at him.

Last for this post, we have Jack's 1st Valentine's Day last weekend...so exciting. Joe had work on Saturday so it was just me & my mini-valentine for the day. We played and watched TV and just had a great day. The doorbell rang at one point and there were beautiful roses for momma from Jack & Daddy, so sweet! Here are a couple of pictures of Jack's first valentine's day (you know I had to take some!):

Ago....

I stole this from a blogger who stole it from another blogger. Feel free to continue the cycle!

1 minute ago… I was looking through blogs (hence where this came from :o)
1 hour ago… I was sitting exactly where I am right now wondering if my little guy is still sleeping.
1 day ago… I was hanging out with my guys at home & finishing up Jack's playroom.
1 month ago… I was in complete denial that it was a new year already!

1 year ago… Joe & I were buying al kinds of 'boy' stuff and getting ready for his arrival :o)
1 decade ago… I was so completely in love with Joe and imagining how our life together would be.
2 decades ago… I was in elementary school and dreading every math test that I had to take!
5 minutes ago… I was starting this entry (yes, I keep getting side tracked).
5 days ago… I was playing with my little boy and wondering how to make time stand still for a little while!
5 months ago… we were getting ready for Jack's Baptism and our trip to FL.
5 years ago… I was waiting & wondering when Joe would propose and when we would get married <3>

1 Year ago today...

we found out we were having a boy! I can't believe it's been so long already. I remember it all so vividly! I had my BIG sono at about 8:30 in the morning and couldn't have been more excited. I was told to drink a boat load of water (don't remember the exact amount but it was a lot) and told to hold it afterwards. We got the the MRI place (where I had to go for my sonos) and actually had to ask at one point how much longer I would have to wait because it was getting harder and harder to hold it and then the technician came and got us.

As we entered the room we were asked if we would like to know the sex of the baby...UH YEAH!! I was a day shy of being 19 weeks pregnant at this point and it was killing me to not know yet. The sonogram started and low & behold the baby's legs were closed so our technician said she would come back to it in a bit. She continued to do her measurements and went back again and of course, legs were still closed! We were there for almost an hour at this point because our baby was obviously as stubborn as mommy & daddy already and was not cooperating with moving around for the measurements so it was taking a little time. The Dr. went back one last time and I could hear Joe huffing & puffing int he background. The Dr. then asked 'What do you want it to be' to which I answered 'Anything, just please tell me something!'....then we heard the words 'well...it looks like a boy'. I had tears in my eyes and was so overwhelmed with emotion. Then the technician said 'Yep, it's definitely a boy and showed us the goods'. I wanted to jump off the table and hug Joe so badly. I was crying so hard, I had this feeling it was a boy from day one and couldn't have been more excited! We left the office and I could see that Joe's eyes were puffy too, he definitely shed a tear or two in the office.

How crazy that a year ago today exactly we found out that out hearts would be taken over by a precious little boy and here we sit today watching the Super Bowl with him. Life is good!!!

Lazy Sunday Mornings...

gotta love 'em! I am sitting here typing this and procrastinating the things that I need to get done today. I need to go to the bakery & to the mall for a few things but I find myself wanting to just sit here watching Jack go to town in his jumperoo. He jumps in this thing still like it's the best thing in the world! Jiggles at all the sounds that it makes and just really has a great time! He is now so big that his jumperoo is on the highest setting it can be on and I think soon enough that will even be too low for him.

Sunday mornings used to mean waking up late, laying in bed and watching whatever old shows I could find as re-runs on TV and just lounging around. It's been a long time since those days now but I would have it no other way. Now I just have to decide whether I take Jack out to run errands before or after his nap...decisions, decisions!

Happy Superbowl Sunday everyone!!

Bath Time Fun!

Jack loves the bath so much. Recently he has figured out how to hold on to the sides of his tub and pull himself to the sides. In doing this he has also figured out that if he rubs his hands against the sides that it makes a noise and well...it amuses him. I decided to see what he would do if I did it since my hands are bigger and so it makes a louder noise. Here was the outcome:
