We have a crawler!

Jack has been very mobile for so long now but has not moved forward...until now!! He has always moved backwards, in circles, could go from sitting to crawling position and back to sitting again. It's been great too because nothing was ever out of his reach anymore (hmm...maybe not so great at times, haha). Joe & I were watching Jack move around Friday morning and all of a sudden there he went! And boy did he go and fast! It's like a little switch finally went off in his head and he realized he could go forwards after all. It might be one of the cutest things in the world to watch! As soon as I have video that I can upload I will post it here, just wanted to share for now :o)

New Look

I felt like it was time for the blog to have a new look again. It's been a while since I have re-done it and last night after Jack went to sleep I couldn't fall asleep so I figured I would come here and play around. What do you think? I have 'borrowed' some ideas from a few other people's blogs that I admire and added progression pictures of Jack to the right of the blog. It's amazing how much he has grown. He was so small the first time I put him in the chair and now he takes up almost the whole seat!

Check back for more updates as I plan to bring some more videos & fun things to the blog in the very near future :o)

Easter & 10 months!!!

We started out our Easter celebrations this year with egg coloring on Saturday night. Of course Jack doesn't have a clue yet what this is all about so he pretty much sat on my lap and we watched daddy do all the work for us. Then daddy decided it would be fun to put a sticker on Jack's face instead of the egg and well, since it was bed time already, the face to the left is what we wound up with, haha.

We also turned 10 months on Easter Sunday...can you believe it? 10 whole months? He is such a little boy these days and very rarely a little baby anymore. He is just more and more fun and is becoming a lot more active. He is on the verge of being able to get up all on his own to stand and I'm afraid that once he gets this down we will never relax again! I put him on his little scale the other day too and he weighs a lb more already than last month. Our scale says 24lbs 5oz!!

Lastly there were our Easter 'celebrations'. Easter in our house is very laid back and low key. For the most part it is just us in the house with Grandma & Grandpa upstairs and dinner later on. I figured I would take advantage of Jack's super good mood on Sunday (who am I kidding, he's like that 98% of the time) and I took some pictures of him with his basket...seems like he liked it :o) Oh, and Gram sent Jack this adorable bunny that is a baseball. You press his hand and he vibrates and sings 'Take me Out to the Ball Game' and of course Jack loves him and sits there with his hand on him while he vibrates and sings, haha.

Teeth!!!!!!

So, let's talk teething....no one ever talks to you about teething when you are pregnant or if they do all they say is something like 'oh, it sucks, it's really awful'. No one really tells you the truth though! No one says to you that teething can start so early and you can not have teeth for MONTHS! Well...we found this out all on our own. It seems that Jack started teething when we were on vacation in FL back in September...yep, that's right, at the ripe old age of 3 months! He was putting everything he could figure out how to in his mouth, drooling like a monster and all the fun teething stuff. SO fun I though, he'll have teeth early...silly me!! This continued for months, not to mention the crappy sleep, gross poops (sorry TMI) and just crankiness. THEN...the big guy int he sky must have felt a little pity for us and out popped a tooth, then a second and before we knew it he turned 9 months old and had 4 teeth...all in the matter of 2.5 weeks.
Then comes looking for the teeth. He can be smiling away and once my hands come anywhere near his mouth he closes up and you have to be really crafty to get him to open back up and be able to feel around for teeth. Same goes with taking pictures. You can see the picture above he still wanted nothing to do with teeth pictures but of course momma finds ways around that and got him to smile enough for the picture to the left. YAY for teeth :o)

Jack's New 4 Legged Friend

Yep, that's right, Jack now has a little puppy to play with. No no, we weren't crazy enough to get a new puppy while having a baby, Grandma & Grandpa got him and since they live upstairs, Jack gets to see and play with him all the time now. Jack & Cosmo (that's his name) got to meet for the first time Saturday night when Cosmo arrived and so far Jack isn't too sure what to make of him. He's a small little guy butt still Jack would rather watch him from afar rather than seeing him too close up. Being a puppy he loves to play and run around and of course chew on things which can be anything from his toys to your feet. I can see a lot of 'no puppy' in our future when Jack can talk more!

So far the puppy has tried to take Jack's paci (see above) but Jack can hold his own, I mean seriously, he outweighs the dog right now by almost 20lbs, haha. Cosmo also has taken to trying to get Jack's socks off and Jack just stares at him like what are you doing? It is going to be so fun to watch these 2 grow up together and I'm sure they are going to be best buds in no time. Cosmo just better watch out when Jack starts walking (which I think is going to happen sooner than we thought).

Here comes Peter Cotton Tale

My friend Kate asked me a few weeks ago if I would be interested in taking the boys (she has 2) to see the Easter Bunny on the Easter Bunny Train so of course I said yes :o) We took the boys back in December on the Santa train and they had a good time, got to see some characters and then also got to see Santa, sit on his lap & take pictures with him. This time was just as much fun for the most part. Of course they are older now though (10months, almost 10 months & almost 2.5 years) so it's a little harder to keep their interest on the ride and keep them happy since it's not like the little ones can walk around and we can't just let the bigger guy walk on his own. They were so good though, we had sippy cups, cheerios, puffs, cookies, toys...you name it, we had it!



Jack was amazed by the characters for the most part. Tweety, Sylvester, Snoopy and of course the Easter Bunny walked through the cars of the trains, waved at the kids, shook hands with them, gave them hi-fives, it was really cute. When the Easter Bunny came he held the babies and stood next to the big kids for pictures. Jack let the Easter Bunny hold him but couldn't really care less about it. As you see from the picture above he was much more interested in the other kids on the train than the person dressed as a bunny holding him, haha.

The boys had a great time playing together and I think that was the best part of all. They have 'known' each other since last summer when the little guys were really little and it's so fun to see each time we get together that they just have a better & better time. Jack even shared his toys a little :o) They really are just too cute together and as they get bigger I'm sure they'll be even more fun for us to watch them interact together.

Bye Bye

Who is this little boy and what happened to my baby??? In the matter of 2.5 weeks we now have 4 teeth (2 top & 2 bottom) so no more Jack-O-lantern, hehe, and he now waves bye bye and is starting clap hands. It's so fun to see him learn new things and it's so rewarding to know that we 'taught' him these things. He loves to make us laugh and really will actually try to do so, even if it's him just laughing at nothing. He sometimes wakes from his naps and you don't realize he is awake until you hear laughter coming from the monitor. It's so great that he wake up like that and that's usually the way he wake up, it's either that or him saying 'dada dada ooooo' in the crib.

I also can not eat anything these days in front of him without him saying 'mmmmmmm' because he wants to eat or at least try whatever it is that momma & daddy are eating. Every morning before his yogurt he has Cheerios now and he loves them! I go to get the box out of the pantry and when he sees that yellow box he squeals he gets so excited! He also loves watermelon, which isn't a huge surprise to me since I wanted to so much while I was pregnant. He now also loves fresh mozzarella, my little Italian boy! We usually cut it in chunks and put it in the salad at dinner and when he sees that salad bowl he starts getting antsy and just wants that cheese. Oh, and god help you if you start to eat it and not offer him any. I think if he could jump out of his highchair and take it from you he would!

So there it is, a summary of what our little boy is up to these days. It really is amazing how fast they grow. People told me, even when I was pregnant, how fast time flies by and to not blink because you'll miss something. Boy were they right! I feel like I blinked and the past (almost) 10 months have just zoomed past me! My little baby is looking less and less like a baby these days and more & more like a little boy. Before I know it his 1st birthday will be here ::tear:: and I will officially have a toddler! Oh no, I can't even think about that right now, I will continue to be in denial that my boy is growing up so fast!
